More than 300 mission leaders packed a ballroom in Chicago as Patrick Johnstone spoke during the North American Mission Leaders Conference, organized by Missio Nexus. Full-color graphics appeared on large screens at either side of the room, demonstrating the growth of the global urban population, the spread of the Gospel and the increase in Gospel messengers worldwide.

Recognizing the value of the information and the compelling way that it was arranged, several members of the audience approached the screens, using their phones or pads to capture the images. But they were not as wise as the nearly 100 audience members who stopped by the InterVarsity Press table to purchase The Future of the Global Church Digital Collection DVD-ROM, newly released by GMI.

Instead of leaving with a few low-quality images, the DVD purchasers received high-resolution images of every slide from Patrick's presentation, plus hundreds more. They also received detailed speaker's notes, videos, data tables, searchable book text—plus the license to use the material in personal presentations for their agency, church or classroom.

GMI has published CDs and DVD-ROMs for more than a decade. They pack tons of information into a small space, are more secure and far easier to transport than books, and facilitate high-quality communication to large audiences.

What is new about The Future of the Global Church Digital Collection is that now, even the DVD is optional! Each copy of the Digital Collection includes online access to all of material. Now, agencies can immediately give their field workers access to this valuable information without waiting for the next international conference or home assignment rotation. Instead, they can buy a multiple-user license and immediately provide members with online access. Students don't have to wait for (or pay for) disks to be shipped before accessing the material for a distance-learning course.

Still, there's something special about holding a DVD-ROM case in your hand or presenting it as a gift to a supporting church. Also, a disk can be very handy in places where Internet access is balky or expensive. That's why GMI offers format flexibility for The Future of the Global Church.

So, when members of your audience start taking snapshots of the screen during a presentation, don't be distracted—just send them to TheFutureOfTheGlobalChurch.org.
