Missions E-Mail Conferences
Brigada -- You
can join thousands of people participating in dozens of missions e-mail
conferences emphasizing unreached people groups. Research-oriented conferences
include brigada-cities, brigada-cities-research and brigada-peoples.
See the list of Brigada conferences, along with subscription instructions,
Southern African Missiological Society coordinates mission-oriented
e-mail discussion groups, including the following. Learn more about these
conferences at http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Parthenon/8409/lists.htm
- Mission -- The mission conference is for general discussions
about Christian mission and evangelism. It is for anyone who is interested
in Christian mission, from the point of view of any Christian tradition.
- Missiology -- This is a more academic and scholarly discussion
group, and will be of particular interest to people in mission studies
departments of universities or seminaries, whether as students or teachers.
There are no restrictions on who may participate, however. You do not have
to be a teacher or a registered student at any institution to take part.
- African Independent Churches -- This is focused on a narrower
field, on African Christian denominations that have not had a close association
with overseas missionaries, but have functioned more or less independently
of them. This group of denominations are growing faster than most other
Christian groups in Africa, and are therefore of considerable interest
to missiologists. You do not have to be a member of an African independent
church or a missiologist in order to participate in the conference, however.
All that is needed is an interest in the topic.
Evangelism Bulletin -- A short monthly email newsletter bringing
news and developments of Internet Outreach and Christian webpage promotion.
